Whether from fibromyalgia, arthritis, or an injury, pain is a common problem. While a standard physician tends to merely mask the problem using a pain reliever, we believe in actually promoting healing. At Bay State Pain Management Clinic, serving West Bridgewater, MA and the surrounding area, we specialize in treatments like epidural and platelet-rich plasma injections that relieve your pain and reduce the likelihood of it coming back.

Conditions We Treat

We focus on treating pain of all types including acute and chronic. We help those who sustain an injury or who suffer every day from pain from an illness. We’re able to treat pain in your neck, back, hips, legs, ankles, knees, shoulders, and various other portions of your musculoskeletal system.

We treat issues related to the spine including whiplash. It’s a condition that occurs when your neck is forcefully pushed forward and pulled backward quickly. Our physician also sees patients who have a bulging or herniated disc. A bulging disc occurs when the outer wall of a disc weakens, and the contents of the disc begins to push on it. A herniated disc, on the other hand, happens when a disc in your back tears, and the contents begins to seep out. We help with other back injuries, too.

Our physician treats patients who have chronic conditions like fibromyalgia and arthritis. Fibromyalgia is an issue that causes chronic pain and tiredness. Although the exact cause isn’t known, we can manage the pain. Arthritis occurs when you have inflammation in your joints. Normal wear and tear is often a contributing factor, but we provide treatments to combat the swelling.

How We Treat Them

Through sophisticated technology and a comprehensive analysis of your symptoms and medical history, we formulate a diagnosis. Then, we determine a treatment approach ideal for your condition. Often, our doctor utilizes more than one treatment to target the problem from multiple angles.

One treatment we use frequently is stem cell therapy. This particular treatment consists of our physician applying stem cells into the area where you have pain. The cells go to where the injured or damaged tissue is and promote healing. These cells don’t initially have a designated job, so they’re able to take on the role of various cells in the body. Ultimately, this reduces your pain and encourages healing.

Another treatment we use is platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. During a PRP injection, we begin by taking blood from you. Then, we send it to our laboratory where a professional spins the blood in a centrifuge. Once separated, we create an injection consisting of a high concentration of platelets. These blood cell fragments are the ones responsible for blood clotting. When injected into an injured or diseased area, the blood accelerates the tissue growth process in order to speed up your healing time.

We also administer minimally invasive spine epidural injections for back or leg pain. The injections we use consist of a steroid – a medication that relieves swelling. Our physician inserts the needle into the epidural space in your back, which is located between your spinal cord and vertebrae.

Why Choose Us

We supply treatment options that get to the root of the problem without using invasive, addictive, or otherwise potentially harmful treatment options. Every treatment plan we prescribe is customized to the patients’ needs. Our physician, Dr. Sherif Algendy, has 15 years of experience in pain management and is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine.
